Christ and Time
Happy New Year!
God’s blessing on all of your endeavors for 2011. I look forward to all my challenges and blessings (actually what challenge does not eventually come to be seen as a blessing?) with the faith that 2011 will be an integral part of our meaningful journey toward Christ. To me, this is the greatest blessing of a believer…Meaning… a life full of sin, blemish and joy organized into meaning by the story of Christ held close to the believer through faith.
Each year is another year toward the fulfillment of Chirst’s work at the end of time. We do not know when the end will come but we are confident of victory because of our faith in Chirst. The overarching meaningful story of Christ infuses every day of my life with meaning…no matter how good or how bad. Because the story of time is not complete each and every detail of my life contributes toward this overarching story. I continue to work toward the joy of salvation confident of victory only through Christ in a cosmic project not yet complete.
While I sometimes struggle with my faith…I have difficulty imagining a life without this story. Being in relationship with Christ means I take on the paschal mystery of Chirst…Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. My faith assures me that Christ has died and Christ has risen, my hope tells me Christ will come again.

Ah, Thomas – excellent. Our story is one which unites us with all time, timelessness. Those who miss the story are stuck in time which is disconnected and which has, as a result, little meaning.
The fragments we make of life and ourselves without the story destroy life itself. Love, afterall, is eternal, everlasting.
Shalom, Dear Friend.
